Deep thought and deep quote for the day,
Choose Both
Poor people think "either/or"; rich people think "both."
You can be kind, generous, loving, spiritual, balanced,
do work you love and be really, really rich.
I remember when I first left my corporate sales work six years ago. At the time I felt burnt out. I traveled a lot, had moved quite a few times, my life was very much type A. Within my work I loved my clients, but often felt frustrated with the direction coming from above - especially the disconnect between what was said and the actions.
What was said, serve your clients well, develop long term relationships, we're in this for the long run. Long term relationships are a win/win.
What was actually wanted, bottom line results that didn't always support the client relationship. One of the phrases I most often heard was, did you hit your number? Your number only being as good as yesterday, today is a new day. Do what it takes to make it "the sale" happen - translated into short term relationships.
My initial paradigm after leaving corporate work and going out on my own (without a real plan I want to add), it took courage to walk away from the security of what was my "knowing" about
