OK, I generally don't rave in public, and feel like I must. This rave is for Latoya X76489 who works for the Home Depot Customer Care - Hampton Bay Fans.
I exuberantly bought a ceiling fan at a rummage sale that I just knew would look perfect in our sunroom - plus we had just experienced all that sweating a few weeks earlier so it sounded like a great idea at the time. Then it sat, sat and sat some more and now it's 54 degrees and raining. My husband asked if it was actually going to go anywhere.
During it's sitting stage it went from the front room, to the kitchen where it got cleaned, to the sun room floor. Finally today was the big day when my favorite contractor brother in law came to install it. Only there was one big problem - no mounting bracket.
Unbelievably we couldn't find any necessary information including an installation guide for the damn fan so we could see what kind of mount we needed. After surfing away, and trust me I'm good on Google - I ended up on a forum which gave me the correct address for hampton bay aka a side Home Depot page.
On the bottom was the coveted 877 number right to Latoya and Hampton Bay help. She connected me with a company in Arizona who for $8 is sending the necessary bracket - and voila in a week that fan should find a new home on the ceiling where it belongs. Unless of course Mike is now where to be found.

Michele, it was simply wonderful to see you last week when I was in Seattle. Your new short hairstyle is fabulous!
I agree wholeheartedly about Home Depot & Hampton Bay. When we bought our house in Arizona a couple of years ago, one of the fans was missing the glass cover for the lights. We traced the similar route via Google and they sent the replacement. Even though that particular fan was no longer in production!!
I'm a raving fan.
Cheers,
