Exactly one year ago today I was diagnosed with breast cancer and began a treatment journey that lasted ten months. So it's literally been about two months that I shifted from treatment to post treatment emotional and physical healing, my first cancer marker blood test in November and my new journey with the drug tamoxifen.
It's also the day after my birthday and no, I didn't go to the spa for the third year in a row because mother nature has been whipping a little snow and a lot of ice throughout the pacific northwest and I wasn't willing to chance it after being stranded last year for over four hours. The picture of the bus overhanging the highway was from an accident last night.

I just spent the last couple weeks helping Marcia Brixey create her new Money Wise Women Get Smart Educational Series and I've we've had a blast moving concept to reality. What I love about Marcia is that when you share an idea with her she says, that sounds great...can you do it? So we did.
The get smart educational series allows her to harness some of the power of the many conferences she put on throughout the northwest which helps financially educate women. This summer a group of us that really believe in the program got together and came up with a new tagline - "a safe place to learn about money." That is really what it is - women helping women get their financial house in order.

Death and dying of a parent during the holidays adds an extra layer and challenge to life. I also find it interesting that this is the third holiday season with a major event. So in my reckoning with God I'm calling it three for three and hoping that next year we can expect a "dull" holiday by our standards.
