Think Big. Aim High. Act Bold. and I'll add Give Back.
This is the motto of Millionaire Systems which is a Real Estate Site dedicated to transforming real estate agents into a millionaire real estate agent. Gary Keller, Dave Jenks and Jay Papasan harnessing the "brains and actions" of successful real estate agents created "the system" which has become the best selling real estate handbook The Millionaire Real Estate Agent.
I like this book for two reasons: it takes what works and makes it better and it approaches an industry which is often viewed as non-professional or a hobby industry from a business person's perspective and approach. This is brilliant.
Take a look at your own business:
- How do you think?
- How do you act?
- What are your results?
- How do you give back?
Are you big and bold? Do you aim high? Do you have business systems that allow you to replicate yourself which allows you and your team to be more efficient and spend your time wisely on what I call IPA's (income producing actions). Or are you stuck in your list of to do's? Do you have a bigger vision than your own business? How can you create more passion in your life and give back? After all The Millionaire Real Estate Agent was birthed out out many people's success.
Your homework:
- Be clear in your vision
- Find "the person, book or system" that shares what successful people have done in your industry
- provide value in excess of the cash value (give more than your customers expect)
- create your strategy and system using what has been proven to work
- tweak your strategy and system so it reflects your personal style (are you an introvert or extrovert marketer, have you created promotions and IPA's that you will enjoy doing? Is your vision big enough?)
- tweak your strategy and system so it reflects your brand and image
- Be committed and do your vision, strategy and system.
- Reflect on what works and what doesn't and make adjustments.
- Do your improved strategy and system.
- Oh, did I say, do your strategy and system. (no this is not deja vu). Most people fail because they are not in action. In fact in Real Estate up to 70% of new agents drop out of the field by the end of their second year and the statistics are not much better for small businesses.
- Share - be committed to everyones success. There is enough for all.
